About Us

More Than Just Design

Sunyata or शून्यता is a Sanskrit term which has been translated into English as ‘emptiness or voidness’. By emptiness or voidness, Buddhists meant that all phenomena are empty of, lack or are void of any “own” inherent, permanent or separate existence.

Here at Studio Sunyata, we dedicate our resources at developing an understanding between the voidness and the material nature of our built environment. It’s this balance that allows a space to evolve overtime in equilibrium.

The philosophy is not only limited to our built structure but also deeply intertwined into our studio culture, defining our work-life balance and pretty much everything that we do!

Objective

Often unnoticed by the citizens, humanity has come a long way from creating places and things on a King’s folly to creating things truly aimed for the citizens. Today we are not creating geometric marvels and arts in the form of pyramids and ziggurats, we are designing urban areas, hospitals and new ways of telling stories that help the citizens live a better life. Today the citizens can’t be forced to select something from a catalog of repetitive objects. They should be able to get everything tailored to their specific needs.

A few decades earlier, things like CAD and 3D viewports were imaginary gimmicks portrayed in the movies. But as the years unraveled, the prospects of human creativity and design, most notably BIM and CG in the early 2000s, the true value of the 3D viewport revealed itself. As we venture forward in time, the use of AI and ML-driven solutions in the world of design and visualization race to unveil more of the hidden human potential. Yet, many individuals fail to grasp the active role of these modern tools that are already changing their surroundings.

As we move further in time, Studio Sunyata hopes to play a bigger role in the field of design and storytelling and we aim to employ the use of AI to shoulder the burden of the future by providing computation and gen - erative design solutions in the field of design and construction and also find new ways to help others tell stories. with the use of CGI.

Founder & Creative Director

Every image emerging from the studio is shaped under his creative direction, guided by a restrained visual philosophy rooted in Sunyata—where negative space, atmosphere, and silence are treated as essential architectural elements rather than voids.

With over six years of experience and more than 90 completed projects, his practice spans architectural visualization and design storytelling across India, Europe, and the Middle East. He has worked on infrastructure and real estate developments for major national bodies and private groups, alongside residential and commercial commissions for studios in Delhi, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. His portfolio also includes international work in Germany, a project in Rwanda, and ongoing collaborations across Europe.

In addition to his independent practice, he has served as Creative Head at Renderzoo, leading visual direction, design output, and studio standards across multiple projects.
